Meet Sweet Charity

As a child I gravitated towards books that beautifully illustrated bright colored sweets. The magic of gingerbread coming to life or rows and rows of colorful candy jars filled my mind with wonder. Christmas was my favorite time of year. I knew my mom would be a busy baker creating delicious and festive varieties of treats to share with those we love. I was raised to believe that there is nothing better than taking the time to make something special and wrap it up perfectly to present to someone. The joy of that moment when they light up… well, there’s just nothing like it. I come from a family with strong creative genes. We all have a need to create. I have been creating since I was old enough to hold a crayon. My love for sweets, need to create, and the joy of giving led me to cake decorating. I began creating special cakes for my little one’s birthdays, and after a short while I was hooked. The cakes became bigger and more elaborate, and the joy of giving grew greater. This passion paved the way to pastry school, and Sweet Charity’s Bakery was born. I am blessed to have served many families all over South Florida, to have placed in South Florida’s largest Cake Competition, to be named one of the Top Three cake designers in Hollywood, and to be published on the highly acclaimed blog “Wedding Chicks” grossing over a million followers. I am enjoying this adventure and look forward to you being a part of it.

OUR COMMITMENT

We value our customers

We are here to create very well thought out and unique desserts for your special event. We want you to be able to have a stress free planning experience and just enjoy the special moments of your day. Our overall goal is to create memories for you and your guests that will last a lifetime. We promise to go above and beyond to make sure that happens.

We value quality

All of our baked goods are made with Nielsen Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla.
Madagascar Bourbon pure vanilla has a creamy, sweet, velvety flavor. It comes from the Bourbon Islands off the coast of Africa. Madagascar is an island nation that encompasses the Bourbon Islands and Nielsen Massey is the well respected company that produces the vanilla. We choose this over saving the extra money by using a vanilla concentrate made from chemicals. We find value in the quality of the real thing. It might be more expensive, but the taste is what is most important.

Along with high quality Nielsen Massey Vanilla, we use;
First quality, all natural, sweet cream butter
Fresh Berries, herbs and edible flowers from Local Farmers (upon availability)
Florida dairy milk
Cage free and 100% vegetarian fed chicken eggs

We value our community

We have a few special organizations near and dear to us that we have chosen to come along side and support in ways we can. It is our hope that you would also see the amazing difference they are making and chose to support them in any way you can.

The Fruitful Field: an non-profit organic urban farm in Pompano with a passion to connect people and creation with each other and with God. Beyond caring for the earth, they share with those in need, and foster spiritual health. http://thefruitfulfield.org

Grow City Youth: a program developed by The Fruitful Field- provides real-life paid work opportunities and tangible development of soft skills to teens primarily from impoverished neighborhoods of Deerfield Beach so that they have improved future employability potential and entrepreneurship skills.  Through work-based learning experiences and real tasks, as well as linkages to a wide variety of community members and professionals (i.e., a CPA, Public Speaking Coach, an English professor, a Chef, church leaders, Cub Scout pack Leader, etc)  they will increase responsibility, work skills, and soft skills that will provide them a strong foundation for a career in any field. http://thefruitfulfield.org/growcity

Christ Church Harvest Fest: Each year we join Christ Church in Ft Lauderdale to raise funds for a selected charity. http://www.echristchurch.org

Icing Smiles: a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. Simple things, like a birthday cake, are luxuries to a family battling illness. The goal is to create a custom cake for the ill child, or their sibling, that provides a temporary escape from worry and creates a positive memory during a difficult time. https://www.icingsmiles.org
